High Ropes Activities Course

Guaranteed to get your group laughing, our Bristol High Ropes Course is fun, exciting and challenging. This is one of the most popular activities we offer for groups.

Located in a private forest location less than 3 miles from Bristol city centre (a 10 minute drive away) the High Ropes course consists of different elements ranging from 3 – 20 meters above the ground.

You’ll need to work as a team to attempt each element with the security of a rope above you and back up from the rest of your team. This activity requires trust, communication and team work in order to climb the obstacles without falling off. Guaranteed to get your pulse racing!!!

As there is something for everyone to get involved in such as belaying and holding ropes for each another, this activity is even suitable for any nervous or non-climbers in the group. Participants decide how far they want to climb up each of the elements so it really is a case of ‘Challenge by choice’. Non-climbers will have as much fun as the climbers!

This activity is extremely funny for all involved and you’ll be talking about it for a long time after.

Why not include our giant Tree Top Abseil into the day for even more fun &  excitement!

  • Perfect for all groups including Stag & Hen, Corporate and School & Youth groups
  • Private forest location within 3 miles of the city centre
  • Full equipment and instruction is provided
  • No previous experience required and suitable for all abilities, age or fitness
  • Sessions are tailored to meet the group’s requirements and are always lots of fun
  • Toilets and plenty of free parking available
  • Tree abseiling is a great addition to include with our High Ropes Course activity
  • Can easily be incorporated into a 2 Activity Half Day or a 3 Activity Full Day Adventure

Duration: Half day or Full day – am, pm or evening sessions available

Prices: From £37.50 per person.  Click here for more details

See below for a description of each course element.

High All Aboard:

Climb up a pole using pegs and rungs until you reach the small platform at the top. Then stand up!

The higher you climb, the more wobbly the pole becomes! Once at the top you’ll be joined by the next climber. Two of you is cosy, four is a tight squeeze but possible!

From the High All Aboard platform leap off and try to grab the trapeze bar hanging just out of arms reach.  If you’ve got the nerve!

The distance from the platform to the bar can be adjusted depending on how brave or confident you feel or if you want to introduce an element of competition.

Fancy trying it blindfolded?

Jacobs Ladder

Working as a team you need to try and climb the Jacobs Ladder. The higher you climb, the further apart the rungs become.

With up to 4 people on the ladder at a time you’ll end up in some positions that you didn’t think possible.

This is no place for hero’s as you won’t manage it on your own! You have been warned!

Balance Beam

Ever tried walking along a log or beam just above the ground without falling off? Could you do it at height?

This element requires you to do just that. Simply climb up a ladder onto the beam and walk from one end to the other.

Just don’t fall off otherwise you’ll be dangling in space!

Postman's Walk

Higher still and above the Balance Beam this elements requires you to traverse a cable from one end to the other using only the cable for your feet and a head high rope for your hands.

Just don’t lean too far back!

High Vines

Above the Balance Beam and Postman’s Walk, this crossing requires you to walk along another cable with only the help of the rope vines hanging down for you to hold on to.

Frustratingly they are a full arm span apart and more than a little unstable!

Cave Ladder climb

The Cave Ladder climb is a fun element that always becomes very competitive. How far and how quickly can you ascend this flexible metal caving ladder?

It’s not just about strength as good technique and teamwork will help you reach the top in style and in a winning time. Secured with a rope above you this element will bring out the competitive spirit in those that attempt it!

Abseil Platform

Abseil Platform

Set at the top of a huge tree is our purpose built abseil platform. Climb up the metal staples fixed into the tree until you reach the platform 20 meters above the ground.

Catch your breath and lean back into the void below to control your own descent. Just don’t forget to look at the view from the top.
