Team building events are a great way to bring people together outside of their everyday work environment. Team building days help people to learn new skills and develop their interoffice relationships, leading to more collaborative work environments. Communication is key during team building activities so any challenges the team have been facing can be ironed out as team members work together to solve the task at hand. One of the most popular team building activities you can organise for your team is raft building. Below we’ve explained why raft building is such a great way to build inter-team connections and give your staff a fun and rewarding day away. Problem solving Raft building always starts with working out which materials would be best suited to design the raft to fulfil the task required (usually it’s transporting a certain number of people a specific distance). This problem-solving task requires your team to negotiate and listen to each other – which are skills they will be required to undertake in their day to day roles. As the negotiation concludes, decisions will need to be made about which materials to work with – this will require people to compromise and work together, ideally….

When the best man is arranging the stag do, the usual suspects will cross his mind: a night at the pub, an action-packed paintballing extravaganza or, for the more sophisticated group, perhaps a sit-down curry… What we’ll bet is that most men tasked with organising their best friend’s final flirt with freedom haven’t considered geocaching. What is geocaching? First played in the US in 2000, geocaching is a relatively new concept. Players or teams are given handheld GPS receivers, which they then use to navigate their way towards hidden checkpoints or clues, known as ‘caches’. Caches are usually waterproof containers containing a logbook and a writing implement so that the player or team that find it can mark it as proof of their success. It’s basically a treasure hunt using technology! Why is it ideal for stag dos? • It’s a team game – there’s no real limit to how many people can take part; in fact, the more brains on a team, the better! • It’s inclusive – geocaching is similar to orienteering, the only physical aspect is that teams have to walk between caches and the only skill required are the ability to navigate. • It’s flexible – if….

Once upon a time the stag do was all about taking the groom to the pub for a good old fashioned drinking session. However, the world has moved on from those days – and now the man of the hour deserves something a little more extraordinary before he says ‘I do’. If you’re in charge of organising his bachelor party, you can’t go wrong with arranging a treetop abseiling session. As well as being heaps of fun, it’ll also prepare the groom for his upcoming wedding. Here are just a few ways the activity will do this. Nerves Even the biggest of thrill-seekers will experience some nerves before the activity. Likewise, even the most loved-up grooms can succumb to some last minute jitters before they tie the knot. Abseiling will be a reminder that even things that are nerve-wracking at first can turn out to be one of the best moments of your life. Centre of attention OK, so the bride is usually the star of the show at weddings. That said, the groom should still receive his fair share of attention. With all eyes watching the groom abseil through the sky, this should prepare him for that moment when….

The bride has all the big responsibilities ahead of her wedding. She chooses the dress, the venue, the food and all the other finer details that will make the day a success. However, it’s up to her friends and family to throw her a hen do that she won’t forget. As well as arranging something special, why not also plan a fun activity that the bride-to-be will appreciate – like canoeing? Here are just three elements that she’ll surely love about it. 1. It’s active The bride will want to get dressed up to the nines on her big day. But for now, she’ll likely jump at the chance to get down and dirty with her best mates. In this way, canoeing is ideal because it provides the opportunity for her not to give a hoot about how she looks as she throws herself into the activity. 2. It’s affordable The average wedding now costs around £30,000. Therefore, you can bet that the bride-to-be will be trying to cut corners where possible – and sometimes it’s the hen do that gets the chop. Luckily canoeing is such an affordable activity that she won’t have to worry about it biting into….

There will be several different things you will want to accomplish from your corporate team day, including learning to work better as a team, improved communication, having a bit of a laugh and a feeling of pulling in the same direction. Bell Boating is the perfect activity to help you achieve all these things! 1. It is a team water sport Each bell boat sits 10 to 12 people, the perfect size for a small team. If there are 18 to 24 of you, then we could even introduce a second boat to the mix – get ready for some competitive bell boat racing! 2. They are difficult to capsize Bell boats are wide and very stable boats, with a twin hull ensuring that any unfortunate sinking is virtually impossible. This is ideal if you have colleagues who are scared of water, unable to swim, or just don’t want to get their hair wet. Bell boats also require zero previous experience and are fine for all fitness levels. Our experienced instructors will guide you and teach you all you need to know. 3. It requires excellent teamwork The bell boat won’t go very far if you’re not all rowing at….
